Why does Turbotax say my husband "had a break in HDHP health plan coverage during 2024" when he's been on the same Humana Medicare Advantage Plan for years?

Neither answer fits, since both options indicate coverage ended.

Why does Turbotax say my husband "had a break in HDHP health plan coverage during 2024" when he's been on the same Humana Medicare Advantage Plan for years?

This message probably does not apply to you.

Your husband likely does not have an HSA so never went through the HSA interview which asks for his HDHP coverage.

Because of this, TurboTax becomes confused and thinks that your husband does not have coverage in 2024.

  • If your husband did not have an HSA in 2024, then answer NONE.
  • If your husband did have an HSA but did not contribute to his HSA in 2024, then answer NONE. (Remember that each of you can have an HSA).
  • If your husband were covered by an HDHP policy for each month of 2024, then answer NONE.

You may have to back up a screen and answer NONE to the type of coverage he had in 2023.
