Why did I receive money from the us treasury's office but when I call the IRS they said my return is still being processed?

It says I havent recieved my return yet or my state taxes yet and it is way less then my expected return amount.

It depends.

Did you receive a stimulus payment instead of your tax refund?  This could be a possibility.
