Why am I being asked to file CT-1040 if I didn't pay property taxes?

You might be required to file Form CT-1040 for reasons other than property taxes. Here are some common reasons:

  1. Connecticut Income Tax Withheld: If you had Connecticut income tax withheld from your wages, you need to file
  2. Estimated Tax Payments: If you made estimated tax payments to Connecticut or a payment by extension
  3. Gross Income Test: If your gross income from CT sources exceeds the threshold set by Connecticut tax laws

For a detailed list of reasons you need to file a CT-1040,  you can refer to the Connecticut Department of Revenue Service.
