Where do I enter the interest paid on my rv
If your RV is considered as your main or second home ( including kitchen and toilet), you can deduct the mortgage interest paid :
In TurboTax online,
- After sign-in and select Pick up where you left off
- At the right upper corner, in the search box, type in 1098and Enter
- Select the 1st choice on the search results - Jump to 1098 and follow the prompts to enter the amount.

I tried that, but turbo tax says a 1098 form is required to enter information in this area. We do not get 1098 forms for RV interest.

If you don't have Form 1098, you cannot include the interest in your itemized deduction. You might consider use standard deduction instead.

That does not work because there is no 1098. We need a different answer to this question

If your RV qualifies as a 2nd home, you can deduct the mortgage interest without a 1098:
1. With your TurboTax open, choose Deductions & Credits
2. Under Your Home, Choose Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098) (Choose this even if you don't have a 1098)
3. Answer Yes to Did you pay any home loans in 2019
4. On the next screen, enter your Lender's name
5. Choose "The Seller is financing this loan and we didn't receive a 1098" then continue through the prompts and questions for this section. (You will need to enter the lenders EIN or social security number, as well as some other information to continue)

Where do I enter the interest paid on my rv
I have a motor home that qualifies as a second home. This loan was paid off this year. I do NOT get a 1098 on this loan, simply what the interest amount I paid was. I cannot get the software to accept this without it asking for a number in the balance. What now? Is there somewhere else I can enter this information?

You are to enter the balance of the mortgage on the 1st day of the year, so it can't be zero or blank if you paid mortgage interest.
