I did not sell a home. I sold vacant land.

Same thing when a house is inherited!  None of the so called pros knew what to do with it either!  It changes to a 10-99B every time!  PIsses me off!

@bam0271 , this is a very old thread.  Please if you do have a question, start a new thread and provide details.  Don't know what to do with this post --- because  all sales whether reported  on 1099-S or 1099-B ultimately  go to either 8949  and/or Schedule-D and on to  form 1040.    Purchase, gift or inheritance just  affects/ supports the  Basis of the asset.
