Customers are currently experiencing an issue where they are going through the 1099R flow, and when asked Was this a Qualified Disaster Distribution? They answer "No" they are still sent through the Qualified Disaster Distribution flow.
Please note, you can answer no to these questions and when asked "What type of disaster affected you in 2017?" leave the selection blank and hit continue.
This will not affect any calculations and you will be able to E-file.
That is a known issue. Does this say when?
My case is slightly different. I always end with a page asking me to "Explain Excess Withdrawal", after I've answered all questions "No". Also, two of the screens in the previous "flow" have no place to answer the question posed at the top. Can I still ignore this last question about Excess Withdrawal and hit Continue, without hurting my final return???? (I have several 1099R's entered.)
The link to the canned reply shown here does NOT WORK.
