It is ready - please update your software.
What do you mean update the software? I use a desktop and when I log into my account, it still shows: Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner
The desktop software is updated regularly. Your computer needs to be connected to the internet. Usually, it will update the software when you open the program but sometimes you need to select Online in the black bar, select check for updates.
Also under online, check updater preference and make sure it says to automatically update.
Once you have updated the program, check under online for the version. Try updating it again and see if there is a change. Sometimes I have to update several times. We employees shut down the program daily to make sure we are getting the updates.
@DawnC @AmyC are you referring to 4562 for Schedule E that's the subject of many threads on the community ... someone from your team said it's still being reviewed due to updates from IRS on 2/11 and maybe Monday but this topic continues to not have a firm date. I have the latest build from 2/12 there are no other updates available and the depreciation section still says "by February, but likely sooner"
Where is the updater preference you are referring to? I use the online version. I cannot find an updater preference, and the depreciation section is still not updated. TurboTax also states:
In TurboTax Online, automatic updates happen behind the scenes, and you don't manually set an updater preference like in desktop software.
To check for updates or version:
1. Open TurboTax Online and sign in.
2. Your software is always the latest version because TurboTax Online updates automatically.
3. If you suspect you need an update, simply refresh your browser or clear the cache.
Unlike TurboTax Desktop, there's no separate update process online. Your program is always current as soon as you log in.
