What state do you live in?
If the property taxes are not included on Form 1098, your local assessor where property taxes are paid would have record of payments made in 2019.
Im getting mad! Nothing is self explanatory, How do I find the taxable value of homestead, How do I find the Amount to enter the amount? Im from MI , Cant finish my state return because of this? This site does explain how it works how to find it no example pictures, I would like to talk a Live person from turbo tax on how to do it. If I cant get help I would like to get a refund that I paid Federal and state returns and go to a Real person to do my tax returns, Doing online is garbage like I said its not self explanatory, easy to understand, No example pictures! I do have my form 1098 Do I use box 10 real estate taxes on my 1098 to enter the amount on line 2f col a?
No, the real estate tax amount should automatically be included. The taxable value is different.
Before searching for the Taxable Value, keep in mind there are limits to the credit. The credit is not available if your household resources are greater than $60,000 or if the taxable value is more than $135,000, you are not eligible. In such an event, you could shortcut this whole exercise and enter $135,000 at your Check this entry point.
If you do think you are eligible or have been in the past, then you can find this information online. Otherwise, the taxable value is mailed to you annually from your city or township.
To find your taxable value of your principal residence online, follow these steps:
To see the directions yourself, go to 2020 MI-1040CR Instructions beginning on page 31.
I went to the Link followed instructions, I see from search results taxes paid for summer & Winter? you add summer and winter taxes paid for 2020? (Note I already filed my federal its The state Im stuck) Summer 2020 property Tax $1,207.78 Winter 2020 property Tax $83.17 Total for 2020 $1,290.95 Do I enter that on Line 2f Col A- Value??
Yes, the amount is for the tax paid in the entire tax year, so yes add the summer and winter tax together.
Now I'm Stuck again What do I need to do on Line 10? for my MI tax Return
It would appear that Line 9 is showing as the same amount as Line 10, real estate taxes. Instead, Line 9 should be the Taxable Value.
To get back to this entry in TurboTax, follow these steps:
$27,690
