What is the 2106 form and can I remove it?

Form 2106 is a form used to claim any employee-related itemized deductions subject to 2% of your AGI.  Due to the new tax law change, Congress has suspended the entire section of this form with the following exceptions.

If you are one of the Armed Forces reservists, qualified performing artists, fee-basis state or local government officials, or employees with impairment-related work expenses, you would submit the form for both federal and state.  You should not remove it.

If you are not one of the above groups, only file with your state if the deductions are allowed on your state taxes. For federal, you are disallowed for the deductions on the entire Form 2106.  You can remove from the Form 1040.
