I have received a W4 form for payments received as an in home service provider through IHSS. How do I enter that information on my federal taxes ? And will that be excluded from the California state income taxes ?

Medicaid Waiver Payments for In-Home support services are excludable from gross income and should not be included in your earned income. If the payments were reported in box 1 of the W-2 (they should not have been), contact the agency and ask for a corrected W-2. If you cannot get a corrected form, please see the options in the FAQ below. (Be sure to click "See entire answer" to see all of the information.)
