You do not select the Child Tax credit (CTC). If you are entitled to it,  TurboTax (TT) will automatically give it to you.

If you think you qualify, and TT missed it, In TurboTax (TT), enter at:

Federal Taxes Tab

Deductions & Credits

-Scroll down to:

-You and your family

    --Child and Other Dependent credit

If you have entered a dependent child who is under the age of 17 and you have entered your income from working, the CTC is added automatically to your tax form.   See lines 19 and 28 of your Form 1040.
