Washington's Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) may actually be taxable to you.
According to the 1099-MISC Information for the WFTC, the state Department of Revenue sends the form to credit recipients who have indicated that they itemize deductions on their federal tax return.
Per the site: "You may need to report your WFTC refund on your next year’s federal tax return as an offset to an itemized deduction. Contact the IRS for tax-reporting obligations."
