Is there a tax deduction in Virginia for job related expenses like unreimbursed mileage on a personal vehicle?
Unfortunately, not anymore.
Virginia generally follows the federal deductions and removed this deduction for 2018 taxes if you are claiming expenses for a job for which you receive a W2.
If you are self-employed, you can still claim un-reimbursed mileage as a business expense.
