TurboTax is making a mistake, stating that amount on Box 12 DD is HSA contributiion!

When "entering" my HSA contributions (I say "entering"  because TurboTax shows it automatically, and does not allow me to overwrite), where it says "2024 employer and payroll contributions", TurboTax is showing the amount listed under Code DD, Box 12, which is $22,096.

This is incorrect, as my employer's contributions to my HSA are listed under Code W, and only amount to $6400.

Because of this mistake that TurboTax is making, it then tell me that I have an excess contribution of $12,796, and that I need to do something about it because it is being taxed an extra 6%. Of course, this is incorrect, and is caused by the previous mistake, where TurboTax is confusing Code DD with Code W! The $22,906 reported under Code DD IS NOT my employer's contribution to my HSA, but the total cost of my health insurance plan.

How can I fix this mistake??

Thanks!

Claudio Meier

did you import the W-2? then you can delete it and try again and if that fails enter it manually

if this is not the case or the above does not work contact Turbotax support because we can do nothing about programming errors.

Can you go back to the W-2 entry screen and manually correct/re-enter those boxes?
