TurboTax Home & Business Home Office Deduction???? Where is it?

Dear Community, I swear I've searched everywhere in my Turbo Tax software for Where to input data for the home office deduction and cannot find it.  I've looked thoroughly through this article and can't find the entry in my version for some reason.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4456314-where-do-i-put-home-office-deduction

I am using TTax 2018 Home & Business Fed, Fed E-file, and State

Where might this be where I can define how much of the home I need to write off for business?

Thanks.

TurboTax Home & Business Home Office Deduction???? Where is it?

This assumes your home office expenses are for a Schedule C self-employed business.    You didn't specifically say.

Here's how to get to Schedule C home office expenses for self-employed in the Home and Business product.  Follow these steps exactly.

  • Click Business tab at the top.
  • Subtab Business Income and Expenses.
  • "I'll choose what I work on."
  • A screen should say "Let's gather your business info."
  • The first category there is "Business Income and Expenses".  Click  UPDATE.
  • Next screen is "Here's the business info we have so far."   It will show your business, so click on EDIT.
  • Next screen is "Your Business."
  • Scroll down 4-5 categories and you should arrive at the topic "Business Expenses."
  • One of the subtopics is "Home Office Expenses."

How to get there depends on what you have already done so far.
Have you already started the business interview, and have you answered the Business Profile questions and entered your business income?

TurboTax Home & Business Home Office Deduction???? Where is it?

Hi epo39b, yes I have already started the business interview and answered most of the questions on income and expenses.  I just don't remember answering anything about deducting the home office space I use, and that's why this came up.  When reading all the articles on it here in the community forum, I followed each tip but none got me to the Home Office deduction item area.
