In regards to hurricane disaster losses, these must be filed in the year they occurred or in the year before the disaster. In this case,you will need to file a 2017 or 2018 Amended return.

Thanks. That was very helpful! I also found out that i cant file the loss on taxes if i filed on my homeowner's insurance. Maybe all this info will help others.
