Hello,
Contribution to my HSA were made through employer payroll deduction in 2023. However, I incorrectly entered the information in TurboTax for question "Any contributions you personally made
(not through your employer)" as my personal contribution through payroll. As a result, form 8889 Part I - 2 contains an amount of $200.
The 2023 taxes were filed and I got my refund, do I need to make an amendment to my 2023 tax return for HSA?
Thanks!

Yes, you do need to amend your return since you indicated that you made the contribution yourself, outside of payroll contributions.
By doing this, you would have been able to deduct the contribution on your tax return. When the contribution is made through payroll contributions, it is pre-tax money, so there is not an additional deduction on your return. Also, payroll HSA contributions should be reported on your W-2 in box 12 with code W. When that is the case, no additional entry is required by you to enter the HSA contribution.
Here is a TurboTax help article to get started with the amended return:
How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?
