Standard deduction

Can I claim the standard deduction of $6,300 as a single filer if my parents are claiming me as a dependent? Turbotax recommended this deduction to me even though I reported myself as a single dependent.

Standard deduction

Yes.

The standard deduction for a dependent is 350 dollars plus your earned income up to 6,300 dollars. If you have no earned income (from wages or self-employment) your standard deduction is limited to 1,050 dollars
