Splitting dividend and interest income in year of divorce

My divorce was finalized in 2024 and I need to divide the taxable income with my ex-spouse.  TurboTax sent me a bulletin stating that I can adjust my 1099-Divs by checking the adjustment toggle at the end of the 1099.  When I go into the uploaded 1099 in TurboTAxc there is an adjustment button for 109-Int but none for the 1099-Div.  Is this an error or is purposely removed?  The 2024 Turbotax response is below but I am unable to figure out how to adjust the 1099-Divs.

TurboTax suggests that for 1099-DIV and 1099-INT income, I enter her portion as nominee (obviously we will need to share spreadsheets and the combined income should be 100% of the received) income.  Can someone confirm this is correct and there is no additional documentation required to be provided?  Yes, this is the correct way to do this.

After you enter your dividends you will select I need to adjust these dividends then his continue

Next enter the amount you paid her or her share of the dividends.  hit continue.

You will see the full amount on the summary screen, but then on your 1040, only the amount that belongs to you will be reported.

You then need to issue her a 1099INT and 1099-DIV

You can use Intuit's Quick Employer Forms to file the nominee forms

For the 1099-B, it may be easier for you to pay the taxes and have her pay you back, so whichever option works best for you, you can choose to do.  However, you can issue her a 1099-B.  You would need to send this to the IRS with transmittal form 1096 by February 28th.

Can anyone help?

After you enter the amounts from Form 1099-DIV, the next page should ask "Do these uncommon situations apply?

  1. Check the box for "I need to adjust these dividends...
  2. In the drop-down, check the box for "I need to adjust these dividends."
  3. On the next page, enter the amount to allocate to the other partner as a positive number. Then check the box for "I received all or part of these dividends for someone else (I am a nominee).
  4. Continue to the investment income summary page to save your entries.
