Solar Energy Credit

I completed an install for Solar system and battery in September 2024. After entering the information in Turbo Tax I get the message that Based on my information I can't get the credit for 2024 but it will be carried forward for my 2025 taxes.  Can these credits not be claimed for the tax year the expense was incurred?

If your tax liability on the 2024 return is zero then the Energy credit cannot be used and the credit will be forwarded to the next tax year.

Ah, makes perfect sense. Have not completed all deductions yet.
