Schedule B 1099-Div Nominee Distribution - How to add "Form 1041" / Trust Name / Trust Address?

In doing my Dad's taxes for 2021, I have received a number of 1099-DIVs that include distributions from before and after his death. I have successfully entered the needed dividend adjustments as Nominee Distributions. The Form 1041 instructions say to include the text "Form 1041" and the Trust/Estate Name and the Trust/Estate address on the Schedule B by the substracted adjustment value.

Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to change the "Nominee Distribution" text on the Schedule B to what is needed.

Which TurboTax version are you using? 

Can you enter Forms Mode? If so, you should be able to change the text there.

I am using TurboTax Deluxe on MS Windows Desktop.

I have gone into the Forms mode on Schedule B numerous times. TurboTax does not seem to allow me to manually modify anything in the Part II Section 5.

I do not believe you can make an adjustment directly on Schedule B.

Rather, you have to make an adjustment on one of the 1099-DIV Worksheets.

Each 1099-DIV Worksheet in Forms mode only allows for 3 Adjustment types (Nominee Distribution, Other Adjustment & ESOP Distribution) and a single Adjustment amount. In playing with the "Other Adjustment" & the "ESOP Distribution" types, they do not seem to present themselves on the Schedule B Part II Section 5 in a manner that seems applicable. Therefore it seems that Nominee Distribution type is the appropriate selection but there is no obvious way to add the required text "Form 1041" and Trust/Estate Name and Trust/Estate address into the Schedule B Part II Section 5.

I can obviously print, write and mail the 2021 tax forms of my Dad but I sure would much rather submit everything electronically!!!

Do show me how to accomplish the additional information required onto the Schedule B!!!

I do not believe you can accomplish that without an override on that particular line.

Typically, overrides void the TurboTax accuracy guarantee but that may not be important to you in this particular case. Since the override is just to enter a description (and not an actual figure), you may still be able to e-file.

So I was able to accomplish the override of the "Nominee Distribution" text with the extra required details.

The only observation is that expanded line of text is now sized quite small to fit into the single fixed size field. When I tried to split the expanded text on to the following blank field, it showed as successfully split text via overrides in the Forms mode of the Schedule B but would not show the second line of text when I went to view the "Print PDF" of the Schedule B.

So I have an adequate solution for my issue. Thanks!!!
