Sales Tax

We are building a house this year in Georgia. It is a self-build, so my husband and I are the contractors. We have been told that we can claim the sales tax that we paid on the building materials when we file our taxes next year. Is this correct?

If you itemize you get a choice of deducting either sales tax or state income tax. That’s discussed here.
