Can someone please help me out with a question.
so I didn’t realize that I shouldn’t have claimed the recovery rebate credit. It would have made my refund $1400 larger than what it should have been. I called turbo tax and they told me to amend my return and the IRS would deposit the refund plus the extra $1400. I ended up amending and scheduled a time for the irs to deduct the $140” from my account. A few weeks late I revived a letter in the mail saying they fixed the mistake and would be refunding the correct amount. They did so I don’t think anything of it. One month later the payment I scheduled to correct the return was taken out in error. It was $1400 that should have never been taken out. I can’t get ahold of anyone at the irs. What should I do to get my money back?

The IRS will either correct it and send you BACK the 1,400 or hold it for next year.
You do have the option of amending again to try to correct it, but as you see, that doesn't always go well.
Right now, the IRS is so backed up, you might not get it resolved until tax time next year.
If you can live without the 1400 for a while, I suggest you just wait and claim that 1,400 as a 2021 refund applied to 2022. (Don't forget to add that to your 2022 return).
You might also ask your employer to adjust your withholding (withhold less) since you know you have this additional 1,400 tax paid.
