When entering a 1098, box 2 is blank but it says outstanding mortgage principal must have a value

In TurboTax 2018, I am trying to enter a 1098 for a HELOC.  My 1098 form is blank in box 2 but TurboTax will not let me continue.  It says "Outstanding mortgage principal must have a value".  How do I continue?

Enter $1. It is inconsequential for tax purposes and will give you a value to move forward in the program.

I guess $1.00 is okay. But the value is 0.00... So TurboTax has a bug!

On my form 1098 ( Mortgage paid off early 2021) -- Box 2 has the  1 January 2021 mortgage balance. Try that.
