We're using Turbo Tax Home and Business edition for 2021. My daughter was a full-time student so I claimed her as a dependent on my 2020 return. Her own 2020 return clearly indicated that she was claimed as a dependent. We used Turbo Tax for 2020 also. For her 2021 return, she is NOT being claimed as a dependent on my return and her own return says she is not being claimed either. Turbo tax asks her if she received the third stimulus check. The answer is no. It then says that she can claim the $1400 stimulus and adds that to her refund. This doesn't seem correct to me. Turbo Tax has a portion of its own website (https://turbotax.intuit.com/stimulus-check/) which I pulled up and when I answer the questions it says she is not eligible because she was claimed as a dependent in 2020. However the 2021 edition seems to want to give her the $1400 anyway. What can I do on this? Thanks

Yes, it is correct. She is eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit which represents the 3rd stimulus payment made in early 2021. The estimator you are referring to here is from early 2021 in anticipation of the stimulus checks going out.
For more information about the Recovery Rebate credit see Stimulus payment resources for your 2021 taxes.
If you got a Stimulus payment for a dependent you aren't claiming for 2021 you don't have to pay it back. And they can get it on their own 2021 return. On their return they say NO they didn't get it - because you did.
The 3rd Stimulus payment is really based on 2021. The IRS just sent the checks out using 2020 to get them out fast.
