I am a student in MS since Aug 2019. But I continue to renew my driver's license and car registration in my home state of TX. Which is considered my state of residence?

If you are just in Mississippi to go to school and are planning on living in Texas, then Texas is your state of residence.

If you have earned income in Mississippi you still need to file a tax return for Mississippi, since the state where you earn the income is the state that taxes the income.

What is my state residency status?
