None of these "work arounds" have worked. Still saying "unacceptable value."
For the TurboTax desktop editions -
To remove the error I went into Forms mode and deleted the Charitable Organization Worksheet. Then on the Form 1040 Worksheet for Line 12b removed the $300 amount so Line 12b is now blank (empty).
Going back to Step-by-Step I completed the Deductions & Credits section without entering anything for a charitable donation and click on Done with Deductions. Continuing through the screens until landing on the screen labeled Charitable Cash Contributions under Cares Act, I entered $600. Continued through Final Review without error.
For the TurboTax online editions -
The problem appears to be that a charitable donation was entered in the Deductions and Credits section of the program when you are only eligible for the Standard Deduction.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen
Click on Tools
Click on Delete a form
Scroll through the all the forms, schedules and worksheets listed and delete all the Charitable Organization forms listed.
When completed with removing forms click on Continue With My Return at the bottom of the list.
Click on Federal on the left side of the screen
Click on Deductions & Credits at the top of the screen
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Wrap up tax breaks
Continue through the screens. After the screen showing that you are getting the Standard Deduction the following screen is Charitable Cash Contributions under Cares Act. Enter $600 if filing Jointly or $300 for all other filing status'. The federal review and the Final Review should no longer show an error for the charitable donation.
I keep getting an error on the line for charitable gifts.

Follow the procedure as posted in this thread. Scroll up.
Oh my goodness thank you so much! I had been stuck on this for like 20 minutes and your fix worked perfectly. I wish I could send you some cookies!
Didnt work for me either...having same issue urghh
Having the same issue as described.
Looking forward to a fix from TurboTax.
This approach worked for me as well.
I had the same issue. Tried a couple of the suggestions of going back to the deductions and every time I went to review, it would decrease my expected Federal return and I guess change the charitable contribution. I went to fix it and read the instructions. For married filing jointly, the number should be 600 and not 300 as it was showing. I changed it from 300 to 600 and it worked. Fed return went back up and the review issue went away.
Very frustrating!! Tried several ideas listed and when ever re-run the review I get the same error:(
My contributions were over $300, but I adjusted them to be exactly $300 in the deductions and credits section where you list them. Then it was happy.
When it takes you to the form with the error of $300 showing, I replaced that amount with $600. The recheck passed successfully, and the Federal Refund showed the correct amount.
I see that this post is from 2021....Its 2022, I am filing my 2021 taxes and have the same issue. None of the "work arounds" are working, so now I need to file by mail? Ridiculous. I paid for this software.
When is this known error going to be fixed.? This is unacceptable. I seem to be going around in circles. Lucky I can't file my return yet due to other forms not available.
I followed the instructions given by DoninGA above and it was fixed for me. But Turbotax really needs to fix the programing so we don't need to do this.
Turbotax has a bug and I'm not amused that it was reported over a year ago and still not fixed. I got the same error as others and found $300 pre-populated in the charitable contributions box. I'm "married filing jointly" + filing standard deduction. After trying all sorts of combinations ($0, $300, blank), I re-read the IRS instructions, it clearly says something like" (or $600 if married filing jointly)". I then entered $600 and it fixed itself. This is the first time I've not itemized in many years, so that was new for me. There certainly were lots of charitable entries populated prior to the prompt to choose standard or itemized deductions. I've seen posts by a couple other people that said "delete all charitable deductions" and Turbotax will fix itself. No, that's a bad answer. The algorithm has a bug - it should detect standard deduction + married filing jointly and do the right thing. Pre-populating $300 in that field is also not correct behavior. Thinking it may be time to re-evaluate using Turbotax after being a repeat customer for many years.
