Does paying for braces in full without any type of insurance count as a medical expense? I know it says dental but, wasn't sure if I could get braces to fit into that.

Orthodontic expenses are deductible as an itemized medical deduction but you can only deduct an amount of total medical expenses greater than 7.5 percent of your AGI.
