Purchased asset while independent contractor and then used in as an employee.

I bought a computer in January 2021 for 6,000 dollars in order to use with a client , I was an independent contractor and received a 1099 NEC . 4 months later I was hired by the  same company and kept using my computer. How to I take  depreciation?

Purchased asset while independent contractor and then used in as an employee.

You don't. You can't take depreciation for an asset that was placed into service and taken out of service in the same year. This is a personal asset that is not deductible as an employee and you did not have the business long enough to depreciate it as a business.

You don't. You can't take depreciation for an asset that was placed into service and taken out of service in the same year. This is a personal asset that is not deductible as an employee and you did not have the business long enough to depreciate it as a business.
