Oral Surgery

My wife got oral surgery and had to get implants for her health (hypertension and to prevent heart problems). The total cost was $47,000. Can I claim this on the medical deduction?

Oral Surgery

Yes.  From what you suggest, these would seem to be deductible if you itemize your deductions.

Medical expenses must be used primarily to alleviate or prevent a physical or mental disability or illness.  They include the costs of equipment, supplies, and diagnostic devices needed for these purposes.  Please see IRS Publication 502 for more information.

Please see the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter my medical expenses? for guidance in entering your medical expenses.
