Optimize charitable donation
How do I figure out the optimal charitable donation for 2016 (while I still can increase it)? We have significantly lower income in 16 vs 15 so can't use past years as a rule of thumb. I was trying to buy the new turbotax and use that, realizing forms not all updated, but doesn't seem to be available.

Optimize charitable donation
TurboTax for 2016 is available now. Here is a link for the online product: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/
Here is a link for the CD/download product: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
With the online product, you must choose Deluxe or higher to be able to enter itemized deductions. You are correct that not all forms have been updated for 2016 yet.
Another alternative would be to use the TurboTax calculator: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/calculators/taxcaster/
