Previously for all other tax years and using ItsDuductible, the Date Acquired and Cost-Adjusted Basis fields for items donated like clothing, etc. were all blank. This year the form is making it mandatory and you cannot e-file through the desktop software. I already tried and paid the fee but now stuck in a loop until those fields are entered. This appears to be a bug on the form since previous years these were allowed to be blank.

Based on similar reports for the 2025 tax year (filing in 2026), you are likely experiencing a known software bug in the Desktop version where Form 8283 is not properly generating for "item" donations. In past years, ItsDeductible grouped non-cash donations like clothing and household items together and left fields such as Date Acquired and Cost-Adjusted Basis empty. This year, the software is incorrectly requiring those fields to be filled in.
Immediate Solutions & Workarounds
Thanks, I had posted in another post what I did to fix some issues and there is still one issue. When you import from Deductible Duck using TXF, the worksheet/form is not complete and needs review. You can walk through the Step-by-Step to fix some of the missing information but then Cost Basis is still required for a one donation, Household items, multi-item entry, acquired over multiple dates/years. I think it is still a form issue, have not tried to redo e-file with this one issue.
