My turbotax is saying that I qualify for the foreign exemption on my income, which is all earned abroad and under the limit but I'm still showing a balance due. Why?

If you have Self-employment Income, you are still required to pay Self-employment tax on it, even if you do not pay regular income tax as a result of the foreign earned income exclusion.
