My income was negative in 2018 due to a company loss . Turbo tax recommended I NOT itemize. What do I do to get my charitable gifts from 2018 to carry forward to 2019?

You should be able to carry that forward 5 years.

Click Federal

Click Deductions & Credits

Scroll down to "Charitable Donations" click Show more

Scroll down to "Charitable Donations Carryover from 2018" and click Start
