My husband is paid via a 1099. Can he deduct the mileage to and from the office? If not, what is the irs rule that appiles?

Mileage to and from the workplace (commuting) is not deductible as a business expense.  However, if your husband travels from the workplace to other sites, those miles may be deductible.
