Mortgage interest deduction without 1098

I took mortgage from a bank in my home country and I didn't get form 1098 from them. How do I enter mortgage deduction in turbo tax while filing my taxes?

Mortgage interest deduction without 1098

You can still enter the mortgage interest in TurboTax, even if you didn't receive a 1098, if you itemize deductions and qualify for the mortgage interest deduction. (Please see the FAQs below for more information.)

To enter your mortgage interest:

  • Open (continue) your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
  • Click My Account (top right of your screen).
  • Select Tools.
  • In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
  • In the search bar, type 1098.
  • In the results box, highlight 1098, then click GO.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions. A few screens into the interview, you'll be able to enter your mortgage interest. (Click the screenshot below for reference.)

Note: If using the TurboTax CD/Download software, you'll use the Find function (instead of "My Account") to search for the topic.

How do I do this for 2020?  Those options listed are not an option this year.
