If I missed a large medical payment on my 2019 taxes, can I add it to 2020 medical expenses? Or do I need to amend my 2019 income taxes in order to claim it?

No, you cannot claim a 2019 medical expense on your 2020 tax return.

If you used itemized deductions in 2019, then you should amend your 2019 tax return to claim the large medical expense you missed for 2019.
