Hi,
When I was doing my tax return (1040, Schedule A), I realized that I did not receive Form 1098 (Home Mortgage and Points) so that I can fill in #10 on my Itemized Deductions Form.
Who do I contact to receive it so I can continue doing my taxes. My lender?
Thanks
Trudi
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Lenders will generally mail you a copy the first or second week of February, and others make them available for download for online users in the same time frame. If you haven't received a 1098 by the middle of February, log into your mortgage servicer's website and look for "tax forms" there.
If this doesn't work, call your lender and ask them to mail you a copy. Contact information should be your most recent mortgage statement.
