It says on the turbo tax website that nutritional supplements/ vitamins etc. aren't tax deductible unless given for a specific medical condition. Could anybody clarify.

I take supplements including vitamins and minerals to treat deficiencies or other mood issues recommended by health care providers. I also take supplements recommended by health care providers for preventative measures for the immune system to help prevent sinus infections.

This is what the IRS Publication 502 Medical Expenses says:

Nutritional Supplements

You can't include in medical expenses the cost of nutritional supplements, vitamins, herbal supplements, “natural medicines,” etc., unless they are recommended by a medical practitioner as treatment for a specific medical condition diagnosed by a physician. These items are taken to maintain your ordinary good health and aren't for medical care.

Use your best judgment regarding whether you can deduct it or not based on the IRS guidance.  If it is questioned, you may need to provide documentation from a medical practitioner to justify the deduction.
