Have you filed taxes over the past several years?

Yes, but I had someone complete them for me.  I don't like the nuances with taxes.

If you bought a home in 2008 you might have received a credit on your 2007 or 2008 tax return, to help "stimulate" the economy.  You can use this IRS web site to look up your status. https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/first-time-homebuyer-credit-account-look-up

If you did not buy your home in 2008, there were no other credits you might have gotten just for owning a home.  And if you bought your home in 2009 or 2010, the answer is no, you did not buy a home in 2008, because the credit had different rules in those other years.
