Is Paralyzed Veterans of america considered a veterans group for charitable donations?
I am given a choice of the 50% deduction or if it is a veterans group I choose 30%. I need to know which choice to make.

The 30% limitation applies. According to the IRS on page 14 of Publication 526, Charitable Contributions,
“A 30% limit applies to… [c]ontributions to all qualified organizations other than 50% limit organizations. This includes contributions to veterans' organizations, fraternal societies, nonprofit cemeteries, and certain private nonoperating foundations.” [Emphasis mine.]

You have simply restated the question by quoting the IRS pub. I think of a veteran's organization as a type of fraternal organization such as Veterans of Foreign Wars. So, where can one go to find out if the IRS considers Paralyzed Veterans or Wounded Warriors to be simply charities benefiting veterans or actually what the IRS considers to be an "organization" subject to the 30% rule?
