No, car expenses are unreimbursed out-of-pocket expenses. Cash donations include those made by check, credit card or debit card. They don't include securities, household items or other property.
That's what I thought, however Turbo Tax is taking a charitable donation of "19.7 miles time 82 trips" and making it a $226 income adjustment 1040 on line 10c. I have not been able to get rid of it without deleting the donation.
No, mileage driven for charitable purposes are not cash contribution. To delelte ithe mileage already entered in Turbo Tax:
