In 2016 I paid a Mortgage Registry Tax. I am trying to determine where that would be entered for deduction in my Federal return.

Title insurance, escrow fees, recording fees, mortgage registration tax and origination fees are not tax-deductible. They are added to the cost of the house for purposes of calculating gain or loss when you sell the property.
