Is there any way around it, besides buying another home?
Get a job in the new town and call it an employment change. You would have to leave the job in the old town. Buying a new house now longer qualifies for the postponement of the gain. That went out when the current rule came in.
I work from home full time. If I keep my same job but have a new duty station (new home address 225 miles away) does that qualify?
