If I have a 1099 NEC from a private employer, sje does not have a business, she hired me to take care of her immobile daughter at her residence. how do I report it?

She was an elderly woman who's daughterer suffered cardiac arrest at age 18 and has been immobile since. I was hired to come to their house and care for the daughter.

If you received a 1099-NEC, you will be considered Self-Employed and be assessed both income tax and self-employment taxes.

Self-employment taxes an additional 15.3%. The rate consists of two parts: 12.4% for social security (old-age, survivors, and disability insurance) and 2.9% for Medicare (hospital insurance).

I was hired to come to their house and care for the daughter.

That "may" be considered W-2 income, where the IRS would classify you as a household employee, and not a self-employed contractor. I can't find the exact pub I"m looking for. But for a start, see https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/hiring-household-employees
