So long as the amount is not too large, you can do that in the Charitable Donation dialogue (Federal->Deductions & Credits->Charitable Donations->Donations to Charity in 2017).
Just enter the name (Salvation Army) and click on add an item. Enter the date of donation, the type of item (Household goods), and give a general description ("Household goods and clothing") and value.
Note: you should have your own list of what you donated and the amounts that you valued them at using the Salvation Army or Goodwill Valuation Guides (easy to find through an Internet search). Even though you won't send this with your return, you should have this in case you are ever asked.
Just saying that "I donated $500 worth of stuff in 10 plastic bags" is not sufficient documentation. You should be able to itemize at least to the point of "5 womens blouses", "10 pairs mens pants" and so on (these are the categories in the valuation guides).
