I started driving for Lyft Dec30th 2016. I didn't receive that money until 2017. Should I have filed some kind of taxes on that when doing my 2016 taxes?

I didn't receive any income from Lyft until 2017 so I didn't file anything. It was $26 on one day. Payment received in 2017 for services in 2016.

Payment received in 2017 must be reported on your 2017 tax return even if the service was performed in 2016. You did not have to report that amount in 2016.
