I purchased a primary home. Where/how can I enter mortgage interest & county property taxes that were paid at closing on the home purchase (& are not listed on 1098)?

Turbo Tax said to deduct these amounts, but I do not know where/how to enter these amounts, which are not on the Form 1098 from the mortgage lender.

You can just add both the extra mortgage interest and property taxes that you paid at closing to the amounts of mortgage interest and property taxes being reported on your 1098 and just report one total for each.

For the home mortgage interest plus extra interest paid at closing, when you are entering the total under the home section, just indicate that the amount entered in different than what is being reported on the 1098 and on the next screen, enter an explanation (like "Mortgage interest paid at closing not included on Form 1098). (See Screenshot)

For the extra property taxes, just report the total of the two amounts under the property tax section (there is no need for an explanation is this instance because all property taxes get lumped together on the Schedule A.

To enter home mortgage interest and property tax information in TurboTax, log into your tax return (for TurboTax Online sign-in, click Here and click on "Take me to my return") type "Schedule a" in the search bar then select "jump to Schedule a". TurboTax will guide you in entering this information.
