Was this done as a business? Were ticket purchases open to the public?
How much is reported on the 1099-K?
It sounds like you would need to use Schedule C if you plan to do this again, or you might claim it as a hobby if it was a one-time adventure and not done for profit.
Nope, just to make fun with friends.
Ticketing partially open to public. Private URL shared via social channels. Not advertising to the public, but technically not invite only.
$7090 from ticketing platform.
The gist of it is that we then pay our friends to rent their sound system, DJ, bring food, photobooths, etc.
Seems like "if it's hobby income you pay the bill for everyone's fun" is the rule for parties organized this way
