Hurricane Ian and State Taxes

I live in New York and own a home in Florida that was damaged by Hurricane Ian.   I suffered over $60K in losses that were not reimbursed by insurance.   I understand I can claim on my Federal Taxes; however, Turbo Tax automatically also applied to my New York State taxes.   Is this correct? or do I have to delete the loss on my New York State Tax return?

If you are a NY resident, claiming all income and expenses would be on your NY return. You must claim the loss on your NY return in the same year as the federal loss.
